Meet the Founder
Hi, my name is Nathan Newman, the founder of Together Strong Education (TSE).
I have a decade of experience teaching in the field of special education, and I consider myself fortunate to love what I do!
I have a teaching credential to serve special needs students in the state of California, as well as a Master’s Degree in Special Education.
I started TSE because I understand the unique challenges and limitations of special education. When I served as a principal at a non-public school, I gained even more insight into the complexities within the Special Education system.
Through Together Strong Education, my hope is to fill in the gaps that exist for students with special needs.
I am passionate about special education because I see a unique spark in every student. I would be honored to help your child reach their full potential.

Our Core Values
COLLABORATE
When you (the parent) and me (the teacher) join forces, something really exciting happens. Getting on the same page and agreeing upon the most effective strategies to implement with your child is an absolute game-changer. Our collaboration enables us to provide the consistency your child needs to be successful!
I’m also on your team when it comes to navigating your child’s IEP. I can attend IEP meetings, provide recommendations, and offer my unwavering support. I understand how overwhelming this piece can be, and I strive to be your resource and sounding board.
ACCOMODATE
“When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” ~Alexander Den Heijer
There are two main ways I can help with your student’s accommodations. First, I am highly skilled at implementing any existing accommodations. With a decade of experience as a SPED teacher, I am happy to bring my expertise in this area. Secondly, I can develop additional accommodations (if needed). After spending multiple sessions with your child, I will be able to provide in-depth insights and recommend any new accommodations.
EDUCATE
Your child deserves a top-tier education; sometimes that means enlisting additional help, like hiring a specialized instructor (👋hello Together Strong Education!) We love working one-on-one with students because it’s incredibly productive and produces accelerated results. Our time together is very focused, and everything we implement is based on the students' individual needs.
As an independent organization, Together Strong Education is not contracted by any school or district. This means we have the flexibility to focus on whatever is most important to you.
If you partner with one of our tutors, we can modify preexisting curriculum or develop curriculum specifically for your child. Your unique child needs personalized education, and we are here to provide just that.
If you partner with one of our executive function coaches, we can develop personalized strategies to address community integration, as well as functional and self-help skills.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is “Together Strong Education”?
Together Strong Education (TSE) is dedicated to providing top-tier, in-home instruction for students with special needs through partnership with the parent/family. A fully credentialed teacher will work one-on-one with the student multiple days every week. Depending on the service you choose, we will focus on academics, functional skills, and/or behavioral support. Additionally, the instructor will be available to support parents with the IEP process.
What Isn’t “Together Strong Education”?
TSE is not a certificated or licensed school. We are not required to have any type of license to provide our service. As such, our work is to be done in conjunction with a homeschool program or district placement. We are an independent organization and are not contracted by any school or district.
Is funding available?
Yes (on a case-by-case basis). Together Strong Education is already contracted as a vendor with local homeschool/charter programs. However, if you do not see us on the list of vendors for your particular program, please reach out and we will take steps to become one!
TSE is committed to making our services as available as possible to everyone. As we are still a young organization, we are in the process of pursuing more funding avenues.
At this time, Together Strong Education is not covered by any insurance providers.
What Areas Do You Serve?
Currently, TSE provides in-home services to families residing in Placer County and Greater Sacramento. Most of our families are from the Loomis Basin area (Penryn, Newcastle, Granite Bay), but we also serve Roseville, Rocklin, and Citrus Heights. Whether your child is enrolled in public, private, or homeschool, we would be honored to work with you!
Why Start Working With TSE?
As an educator in the field of special education, I have held positions as a teacher and as a principal. During that time, I have seen students and families who are being serviced by a school or district, but are left desiring more. The intention of Together Strong Education is to provide additional support to students and parents that is personalized, strategic, and collaborative. As a parent, you will have a fully credentialed teacher in your home, providing services for your child, as well as supporting your family throughout the IEP process.
